Every year, the ADAC tests winter sport areas worldwide. In the ADAC ski pass index, Reit im Winkl offers the best price-quality ratio. Moreover, Reit im Winkl is the winner in the test category “langlauf” and in the category “family friendly skiing areas”.

For the winter season 2013, the ADAC ski pass index has once again tested which areas offer most skiing fun for your money. It relates the size and quality of a skiing area with the price of the ski pass and indicates to winter tourists where they can find the best price-quality ratio. In Germany, the Upper Bavarian Reit im Winkl ranks before Oberjoch-Bad Hindelang in the Allgau and the classic area in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

ADAC Ski Guide most family friendly skiing area

In Germany, Reit im Winkl is the best. Practice lifts directly at the village, the comfortable ascent in the Seegatterl cable car to the Winklmoosalm and the winter world of the Hemmersuppenalm distinguish this area.

The sunny high plateau of Reit im Winkl distinguishes itself by the fact that you are sure to find abundant snow. Moreover, it offers a vast network of cross country skiing trails at three levels, aswell as the skiing area Winklmoosalm-Steinplatte. The easy slopes on the Bavarian side, for which you can acquire a separate ski pass, are ideal for practice. On the other hand, the northern side of the Steinplatte (part of the ski association) offers diversified ski slopes, including more challenging ski-runs like the black Nordhang ski slope. Cross country skiing slopes are prepared around Reit im Winkl, at the Winklmoosalm and at the Oberhemmersuppenalm.
